Beside the Lerderderg
August 29, 2009
I love to photograph almost anything… I guess you have noticed that by now… This is my life.

Beside the Lerderderg
Landscape photography is something I find relaxing, a stress relief as well as a creative outlet and you don’t ever have to travel far to find something.
I tell you what, the web version of the above image just doesn’t do it justice.

Jogging Photography V
August 28, 2009
A week or so ago, you might remember I jogged along the Altona beach front… Well, I went back for another go, there is no such thing as too much of a good thing is there…??
So here is another one from Altona near sunset.

Eternity Ring.
August 27, 2009
The ring shot I posted on Sunday created a bit of a stir, and I received a lot of positive feedback, which is always great !! Some readers asked how long it took to set up and shoot, what camera and flash settings I used etc… all the usual stuff. That is, except for one reader, who stated “Its a cool shot and all, but surely you couldn’t just do that during any wedding.”
Yeah, you would need a twig and something to put it in, but it’s not like this is difficult, and it is shot with all the usual equipment I have ready to use at any wedding.
So, it got me thinking, and during a quick revisit to the concept, I shot the following… including setup, in less than 3 minutes.

Big Rock
August 26, 2009
Just a couple of landscape shots from our recent trip to Big Rock in the You Yangs.
It was a beautiful clear winters afternoon, there was a little texture in the clouds, and the light was gorgeous, perfect for photography.

A Wedding Dress
August 25, 2009
I mentioned a week or 2 or 3 ago about the fact that it can be hard to tell at first glance that I am a wedding and Portrait photographer due to the random nature of my photography blog…
So another wedding dress shot to bring balance back into the world.

One night in Prahran
August 25, 2009
Early on this evening, I had a few minutes to spare before a client meeting in Prahran, and so I captured a few images before the rain told me to put the camera away. I just thought I would share these with you.

Her Rings – Image of the week (22)
August 23, 2009
The one thing I love about this blog, is that I get to share all sorts of photographic images with you guys out there in internet land… (or what ever its called these days.)
And it can be tough trying to find a balance between my wedding and portrait “work” and all that other crazy and random stuff that I find myself photographing, in fact it can be tough enough just to find the time to write a blog post…
But enough complaining from me, right? I thought I would share this with you, it’s one of those rare times when the image is still wedding related, but is something a little different to what you might normally find around here… And I LOVE IT !!

Rachelle & John – Melbourne Engagement Session – Part 2
August 21, 2009
Tuesday was a great day. After spending an hour or so with Stylist Megan Budge, we ventured forth to Hedgeley Dene Gardens to have some fun (see previous post).
About 45minutes later we all stopped for a bite to eat, where I had a roast beef and salad sandwich on wholemeal bread and a lemonade. Then we moved on to the second location, the drains at Kooyong, for something a little different.
Here is the little sneak peek at the second 1/2 of Rachelle and John’s Engagement Session.

The bride to be (I love this image!!)

A little smile

And the Groom to be

Avoiding the mud and water

A Moment

One of my Favorites, for sure.

A piggy back ride, just for laughs.

Where did she go...??

And one more kiss
Thanks Rachelle and John, the whole day was awesome.

Rachelle & John – Melbourne Engagement Session
August 20, 2009
It was John’s last minute idea to go to Hedgeley Dene Gardens in Malvern, for the first part of the shoot, and it was perfect !! The location was awesome, the light was just gorgeous, and these two were just so damn cute together!!!.
Here is a little sneak peek at the first 1/2 of Rachelle and John’s Engagement Session.

A kiss (there were many)

A little moment

They poked faces at each other a lot !!

Among the Agapanthus

Trying to be serious!!

That's "Mr Duck" to you!!

Another kiss

Probably my favourite.
So, there you have it.
I just might post some of the second 1/2 of the e-session tomorrow, if you are good.

Winding Road
August 19, 2009
You know how I love to share those random images that I stumble upon as I wander about the place, right? And we both know its not Wedding or Portrait Photography, but its the best way I know of for you to get to know me and my photography.

I could have written something about the “hard road ahead”, or the “journey of life”, or something else equally as poignant. The trouble is, my head is really not in “that space” right now. So you will have to make do with the image information instead
But thanks for reading anyway!!

A Hair and Makeup Trial
August 18, 2009
I love what I do, I get to photograph some really cool stuff, but over the years I have never had the opportunity to photograph a Hair and Make-up Trial. Probably because its not the most obvious thing for a wedding photographer to actually be invited to… Until today !!
I had the absolute pleasure of spending the morning with Stylist Megan Budge and one of my Awesome November Couples, Rachelle and John.
Rachelle was smart enough to time their engagement session with her Hair and Make-up trial, so she would look even more awesome !! Now thats called thinking ahead !!
And I know you are dying to see them, so here are some of the images !! (16 actually!!)

Heating the rollers

The Hair, almost 1/2 way there!!

Some serious roller action

A little hairspray

Brushes and brushes

And now for a little makeup.

And a little over here...

Guess the colours.

And now the eyes

I didn't miss much

Curling the Lashes

A box of tricks

I love the hair just the way it is now, but I am a little crazy like that.

I love this shot !

And this one, with John, quietly looking on.

And the final result!! Awesomeness!!
I will post some of the actual e-session tomorrow OK !!

Plum Blossom – Image of the week (21)
August 16, 2009
I received an email this morning from a budding photographer who asked if I was going through a dark patch, due to all the brooding black and white images I have been posting…
Nah… Things are all good.
Looking back however… I think that I have emerged from one… maybe…
But anyway, I thought I would share something with you, it’s one of those that fits into that “something a little different” category quite nicely…
