Image of the week (1)

I am thinking of running a regular blog post titled image of the week.

At this stage I will try to post every Friday, but as things are always very busy here, I can’t make any promises. Most of the images will be personal, as I am trying to blog all my Wedding and Portrait images anyway. (at this stage I am only blogging some…  oops… time is in such short supply !)

They wont always be my best work related image of that week either, but will hopefully be something a little different.

And for those that are interested, it was captured by :-

Obviously the image has been “adjusted” in some way, I used one of my custom x-process presets in LR2.2

100% Urban – Sam and Melanie

I have been way to busy to post anything of real substance on my blog (with regard to wedding images, that is…) So, I have decided to post 16 shots from one of my more unusual weddings, from June 2008… I know, 6 months late, but if you read the rest of my blog, you might find out why?

Sam and Melanie came all the way to Melbourne from Perth, WA. The ceremony was held at The Mirka in St Kilda, and we shot their photo’s earlier that afternoon in various Melbourne Alleyways. It was a perfect setting as they are both into Graffiti and the whole street art culture.

Adrian & Annette’s E-session

I had the pleasure of meeting up with Adrian and Annette in the heart of Melbourne to shoot their Engagement session on Thursday evening last week and I have to admit I had a blast.

They were nervously cute together, but it didnt take long before I had them smiling at my “half crazy, dark alley, rubbish bin climbing antics”.  I cannnot wait to shoot their wedding at Point Cook Homestead in November !!

Ask Your Photographer (3)

“I get emails all the time from different people asking similar Photography, Wedding and Portrait related questions, and Ask Your Photographer is an attempt to answer them.”

Question. “Do you shoot film or Digital?”

I received this question via email from Julie and Thomas, who have since booked me for their wedding in August 2009. I don’t get this question as often now as I have in previous years, but it still comes up every now and then… Obviously !

First Post

Well, after giving up on my old blog a while ago, I decided it was time to start sharing again. So this is the official “first post” on my new blog… I had plans of writing something witty, or insightful… but then I would have nothing to say next week… So, seeing as I am a Melbourne based Wedding and Portrait Photographer, I suppose I should post an image.

The following image of Melanie is quite simply in MY shooting style.
