Well, after giving up on my old blog a while ago, I decided it was time to start sharing again. So this is the official “first post” on my new blog… I had plans of writing something witty, or insightful… but then I would have nothing to say next week… So, seeing as I am a Melbourne based Wedding and Portrait Photographer, I suppose I should post an image.
The following image of Melanie is quite simply in MY shooting style.

Sam & Melanie’s wedding was on a cold and windy day last month, but looking at this shot you wouldn’t know it. We all spent an hour or 3 in some of Melbourne’s Graffiti covered laneways shooting some relaxed and informal images (including the family group shots). Its days like these when I really enjoy my job, hard work, but worth it. She was a beautiful bride and they were both really easy going people, and great to photograph. Its always great to see a couple who are so obviously in love and are not affraid to show it.
Thanks to you both for a great day.
And for all the “strobist” types out there, here is a quick run down on the set-up for this shot.
580EX & warm gel shot into a westcott Bi-fold white brolly on a stand camera right. Trigger was a 580EX on camera as master only. Meter for ambient -2 and shot in e-ttl mode.
ISO 400, 1/250sec @f/3.5 (70-200mm/2.8 IS @ 90mm)
